Villa Fiorentino, 8.00 p.m.
In Sorrento, in Villa Fiorentino, the usual appointment with the Lemon Jazz Festival is on its way. For its second edition, which will take place from the 21st to the 29th of July, the long-awaited event that pays homage to great music, devotes space to the works of the artist Monk Vince Sangiorgio. We will present for the occasion four new works on a musical theme. You will also have the opportunity to appreciate the new BMW X4 with a strongly contemporary design, on display during the kermesse. Virtuosity and skill of the great musical artists such as Stanley Clarke, Roy Hargrove, the Yellowjackets group, Gegé Telesforo and the Trio Bobo will therefore be in connection with the Monk’s sculptures, in a sublime setting such as Villa Fiorentino. Monk through his “relief inlay”, a technique in which tradition and innovation merge, he puts himself in dialogue with the user with a story, first of all existential, in which he speaks of modern life and time. Wooden pieces carved manually and then reassembled give rise to the narration, with singular balance and taste. The works will remain on display in Villa Fiorentino for the entire duration of the Festival and then be shown in our spaces in Via S. Francesco, 25.
